Broadway Producing

For the longest time, I’ve wanted to be a Broadway Producer. But I was always scared to take the leap, and being in the press office I was able to get deep access without the risk of financial contributions.

I spent a lot of time helping to tell the story of a show, and working closely with the talented creatives that get things on stage, but there was always something stopping me.

Then I found out about OTHELLO. A decade before taking this leap, I handled the PR for A Raisin in the Sun starring Denzel Washington and directed by Kenny Leon. I even got to work directly with Kenny that spring during his Tony Awards campaign and he (very deservedly) won!

That production changed my life. I gained a mentor and friend who taught me to love plays (previously I was a tap dance, musical theatre girlie only). Kenny also encouraged me to start my own business and became one of my first clients.

So when he told me that his next project with Denzel would be OTHELLO, costarring Jake Gyllenhaal, I knew in my bones that this was my Broadway debut as a coproducer with my bestie, two-time Tony Award-winning producer, stage manager, educator, and activist, Cody Renard Richard.

And here we are! OTHELLO opens on Broadway on March 23, 2025, and I’m thrilled to say that all of my investors are women, or hetero couples where the woman is driving the investment.

You can read more about some of my Broadway career highlights and see some of the shows I have represented as a publicist, but I am so grateful to be stepping into this lifelong dream in 2025!
