Care for your magic ✨

**Originally dated October 27th, 2023

Happy eclipse, my magical friend! You're almost there! And you are surviving! Even amid all of the madness in the world, the pain and suffering, the surprises and the changes. You are still here and still showing up to life every day.

THAT is what counts. You show up and have some consistency for yourself and your dreams. Or maybe you're slogging through. Regardless, you are still here.

I'm definitely feeling the autumn sprint catching up with me, and the pressures of wanting to do it all (hello my fellow manifesting generators!). Craving what I have recently started calling “life savasana,” I want to sleep for a week. The integration can't happen if you don't make space for it. That time to rest and recover, to allow your system to catch up with all of the changes, it's vital. I've been skimping on it lately.

And still, I show up as best I can each day.

Shall we get on with the tarot?

Knight of Cups 🏆

Deck: Rider Waite Smith

Here come your emotions again, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing! Feeling your feelings might not be easy, but when you leap with your heart, your emotions WILL be heard 🤣

The Knight of Cups is that adolescent energy, plus the watery landscape of your feelings and intuition, which can equal an attachment closer to teenage infatuation than something stable and grounded.

When you have the big feelings that come with testing boundaries and growing beyond the things you already knew, it can feel sloppy and all sorts of wrong. You are perfect! Let yourself feel into that ick, the cringe.

Caring isn't cringe, just make sure that you're coming from a genuine place of interest instead of delusion.

What do you care about?

Magic is limitless ✨

Hiya, my magical friend! How are you? I am ready for a nap! Lots of great things have been popping up, and my calendar has been filled to the brim. But between the news, the current state of global affairs, and everything I have agreed to do, it's taking a toll.

So I am tapping into my intuition. I canceled my tarot workshop - my system asked for rest, so I listened to her. It wasn't what my heart wanted to do, but I chose to heed that intuitive information. And the energy that I conserved made a difference in the rest of my week.

But of course, we are still pulling a card!

So, onto the tarot with…

The Fool 🦋

Deck: Dalí Tarot

My dear friend Ava gifted me this deck and I rarely use it. The imminence of Scorpio season has me feeling like it's the right fit.

The Fool is the zero, the numberless number, the void, the space for possibility. This card technically exists outside of both Arcanas, and is the one who takes the journey. The Hero's Journey. The Fool's Enlightenment. The Human Spirit's Evolution.

They are the ones who seek out the adventure, who choose to go to this school called Earth/Life. The one who asks for growth. It's you.

This is the beginning of a journey, an opportunity to let possibilities reveal themselves to you. The canvas is blank. The world is your oyster. What will you do with it?

Seriously, if you had every and any possibility available to you - I'm talking totally limitless - what would you do?

Embrace your magic ✨

Happy Friday the 13th, my magical friend! Given a bad rap thanks to some smart PR in ancient Christianity, Friday the 13th represents the Divine Feminine. No matter your gender identity, there are aspects of it in all of us.

Complicating this today is the kickoff of Eclipse Season - tomorrow's Libra new moon is a solar eclipse and when the sun and moon line up, light is thrown to the shadows and surprises surface.

My favorite Instagram astrologist Jonathan Dent says that now, more than ever, it's important to have faith that whatever shows up (whether a beginning or ending) is for your highest good. It might not feel like it while you're in it, but The Universe loves you, and whatever happens is out of love.

Deck: The Wild Unknown

Feeling called to The Wild Unknown this week, we've got The Devil, reversed. This card is all about your shadow side, so its timing with the eclipse tomorrow is synchronistic.

The Devil reminds you to invite your shadows to the story. It isn't always love and light. And your shadows can be any part of yourself that you don't like. They can be how you respond in certain situations, a boundary that you always let slide, or even a habit that you don't notice.

These parts of yourself deserve as much love as the “great” parts - more, even! You must love your darkness, but beware of getting stuck there. (Hades was an early casting for this card in my Broadway tarot deck. It was for a good reason.)

Soooo, what shadows can you embrace this eclipse season? Reply and let me know!

Hold your magic ✨

** Originally dated October 7th, 2023

Hello, my magical friend! Here I am a day late, but am I really? These weekly emails are on a self-imposed timeline so giving myself the grace to mess with timing while staying consistent. How's that for a practice?

How are you doing? Feeling the lingering effects of the full moon? Buckle up, eclipse season is on the way! And that bitch will bring more surprises than you might want.

And so, onto the tarot with…

the Seven of Wands 🪄

Deck: The Rider Waite Smith Tarot

Back to the classic Rider Waite Smith Tarot, today we've got the 7 of Wands, which is clearly a battle card.

Wands represent fire (passion, drive, creativity, the shit that lights you up and gets you out of bed). And the 7 comes at a point where you have gained some ground in this battle. Now it's time to hold it.

This could be in relation to your career, a relationship, your mental health, or any number of aspects of your life. But you have found success and growth and accomplishment already! The practice becomes the medicine. Stronger boundaries come from a sturdier center.

So what ground have you gained with your magic? How are you going to hold onto it? Reply and let me know!

Intuitively choose your magic ✨

Happy Super Full Moon in Aries, my magical friend! Have you been feeling it this week? I know I have. After a pretty magical kickoff to the fall, I am ready for more cashmere sweaters and craving a wood-burning fire.

And apparently, there are a few options I need to toss in the fires of this Aries full moon, because these tarot cards are reading me for filth.

And so, onto the tarot with…

the Seven of Cups (again!), reversed🏆

Deck: The Fountain Tarot

Feeling the airiness of Libra season, The Fountain Tarotcalled me again 🤣 And what is wild, is that the 7 of cups has been showing up for me a lot in the last few days. It even popped up this morning in the Dior deck!

Last week, you read that this card is about choices, and maybe about having too many of them. With the reversal, you are being tasked to sit with yourself quietly and listen to your intuition. What can go? What stays?

It's hard to curate your life when you have a lot of great ideas and things that you care about, but it's important to limit where you focus your energy so that you actually have some of that energy left to pour into the things you really want to do. (I know I needed to hear this!)

Sooooo, are there things that can be put on the back burner? That aren't a hard “no” but more of a “not right now” vibe? Reply and let me know!

Happy Friday, my magical friend! How was your week? Libra season starts tomorrow and I'm looking forward to finding some balance. And it's the Autumn Equinox (2.39am ET Saturday)!

Shifts in the season bring shifts in our lives, as we move through the rhythms of nature. As much as summer is my favorite, breaking out the cashmere sweaters and leather jackets bring me a lot of joy too. How do you feel about the fall?

And now, onto the tarot with…

the Seven of Cups 🏆

Deck: Trickster's Journey Tarot

This gorgeous deck with watercolor imagery from my very generous editor was calling to me this week. And it offers up the Seven of Cups, after last week's Seven of Coins.

Cups represent water, your intuition, feelings, and emotions. The Seven is all about choices. Your heart knows what it wants, but sometimes there can be analysis paralysis. The overwhelm you feel when too many options present themselves doesn't have to drive your decision.

Take a step back and reconsider the options. Rather than throwing spaghetti at the wall, determine if there are any that DON'T feel aligned. When you release those, consider what is left.

Does that shift help you tap into your intuition and notice which choice feels right? Reply and let me know!

Practice patience with your magic ✨

** Originally dated September 15th, 2023

Hey hey, my magical friend! How are you? That Mercury Rx had one more laugh in store for me - the email I started earlier this week evaporated. It was still going to be coming to you a little later than usual, but whatever I wanted to say the other day was not meant to be.

The Virgo New Moon yesterday felt like a beautiful opportunity to reset a lot. And I sure did! Looking forward to how the next few weeks play out and seeing trajectories shift.

Patience isn't something that I enjoy practicing, but I am embracing the process, so anything is possible.

And now, onto the tarot with…

the Seven of Coins 🪙

Deck: Queer Tarot

VIbing with the Queer Tarot this week, and how about that Seven of Coins asking for patience?! Our Coins (or Pentacles or Discs) represent earth and the physical world we move through, including money and work.

The Seven of Coins is a practice in patience. The seeds have been planted, you do need to tend your garden, but only time and nature will bring growth and change. (Of course we know time is a construct, but in relation to space it is a factor, and I don't really understand it all enough to be talking about it to you!)

Back to the card - where can you practice patience? Are there moments waiting for the subway, or in traffic, or when things aren't going the way you want them to? When it is hardest to practice, patience serves us the most.

Where can you open your life to a practice in patience? Reply and let me know!

Relate to your magic ✨

**Originally dated September 8th, 2023

Happy Friyay, my magical friend! These “short” weeks sometimes feel like the longest. For me, it was big back-to-school energy as I started my second (and final) year of grad school at Columbia University's Spirituality Mind Body Institute.

My classes this fall are Psychology of the UN and Intro to Ceramics - two things that I am very excited to learn about! (Anyone else obsessed with The Great Pottery Throwdown on HBO?)

And now, onto the tarot with…

the Two of Cups 🏆

Deck: True Heart Intuitive Tarot

Feeling like I needed a gentler deck this week, I went with this favorite from the amazing Rachel True! And what a card to get with such a heart-centered deck 🫶✨

The Two of Cups is the romance card - this is the one you want to get when you think you want The Lovers. It represents coming together in a partnership, sharing your cup with another.

Cups are water cards; your feelings, emotions, intuition, and yes, relationships. The upright nature of this card tells me that there may be a budding attraction somewhere in your life, or perhaps you are reinvigorating or reconsidering things with your significant other(s).

Wherever you are in your relationship journey, Venus stationed direct this week ending a 6-week retrograde that July 22. This was an opportunity to really review your relationships and how you show up in relationships, mirroring the Two of Cups.

Are you relating differently? Reply and let me know!

Release for your magic ✨

** Originally dated September 1st, 2023

Hey hey, my magical friend! How are things? Did that Super Blue Full Moon in Pisces kick your ass as much as it did mine?! 🤣

I'm still recovering my energy, though that's also due to the INCREDIBLE oHHo pop up with Weed Auntie Solonje Burnett on Wednesday, where I did almost 20 individual tarot readings inside of 3 hours!

Onto the tarot with…

the Death card ☠️

Deck: The Wild Unknown Tarot

This card is one that folks fear but that is a classic misunderstanding! The Death card doesn't mean literal death (though I'm sure that it can), it is really all about transformation.

This about the caterpillar and butterfly. The version that hatches and grows all of its little feet turns to literal goo before it gets its wings. The form that hatched has to be obliterated in order for its highest expression to exist.

We are no different! Whether it is a job, a relationship, an experience, or even a meal, one has to end before you have the real capacity and space for another one. (Of course I realize in this era we all have many jobs, open relationships and ethical non-monogomous practices exist, but go with me on this one.)

This full moon energy is still vibing for us, so it's the perfect time to release the things that are taking up space unnecessarily.  What are you ready to release? Reply and let me know!

Surrender to your magic ✨

*Originally dated August 25th, 2023

Hiya, my magical friend! How's your Mercury retrograde and Virgo season going so far? It's been two days, but that Mercury Rx shadow period has been shadowing for a couple of weeks, so I'm really in the practice of going with the flow and accepting redirection without making it mean anything. Talk about a challenge!

Turns out that when I actually do that, the Universe offers up some of the most magical moments ever. So I'm gonna keep it up!

Onto the tarot with…

the Queen of Swords ⚔️

Deck: Cats Rule the Earth Tarot

Yeah yeah, Leo season is over and we saw a cat in this email last week. But this awesome deck from my dear witchy friend Liz has been patiently waiting for her debut. So here she is!

The Queen of Swords is the ultimate momager (thinking Kris Jenner vibes). She's calculating, able to see multiple perspectives at once, and knows how to let others tie themselves in knots while she sits cooly waiting for the moment to pounce. She nurtures her brood and teaches them how to utilize their own brains.

Swords represent air, and the mind, technology, language, communication, information, and education. These things can easily get mixed up during a Mercury Rx, because Mercury rules them as well.

There are opportunities to surrender to the chaos because the Universe is always going to oscilate between order and chaos, so its inevitable that the order will come. It might not come as quickly as you want, but sometimes the practice is patience (🙋🏻‍♀️).

Where are you surrendering? Reply and let me know!

The heavenly setting has my nervous system relaxing already and I'm really grateful for a few days in paradise.

Onto the tarot with…

the Seven of Wands 🪄

Deck: The Fountain Tarot

I've been itching to get The Fountain Tarot back in my hands for a minute, so it felt good to use these cards for our collective reading this week! The Seven of Wands is a defense card - it's the point in the battle where you have to hold the ground you've made.

When you fight for what you want, you will have successes and you'll fall short. This card comes when you have made gains and now you have to hang onto them.

For me this weekend that means practicing the feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation that I feel when I'm in this natural utopia.

What are you defending? Reply and let me know!

*Originally dated August 12th, 2023

Hey hey, my magical friend! How you doing? I know I'm coming to you a day late. I am wiped after another week of weird sleep and this wild astrological weather - between the Lion's Gate Portal and retrograde season, I am not sure what to make of things.

But that's the beauty of tarot, it can help you find some calm in the storms of life. Direction and clarity are still there even when you don't think there's any to be found.

Shall we?

Onto the tarot with…

The Tower, reversed🗼

Deck: Marseille Tarot

This week we've got another digital reading from Moonlight because your Ivy League Witch dropped the ball and needed to use a digital deck. And the synchronicity is wildly mundane - I pulled this exact card myself earlier this week!

The Tower gets a bad rap because it is a dramatic crumbling down to the foundation. It's the point in the Major Arcana where The Fool's rickety structures are called into question and only the stable stuff gets to stay.

Most people hate this card, but it's one of my favorites since it strips everything down to the bare minimum and makes space for rebuilding.

With this reversal, what internal structures and beliefs are collapsing for you? Personally, I'm shattering the plexiglass ceiling that shapes my beliefs around abundance, receiving, and worth.

What about you? Where are you erasing the story and sharpening your pencils to rewrite the chapter that you want to be living? Reply and let me know!

Hiya, my magical friend! How was that Full Sturgeon Super Moon in Aquarius for you? I slept 12 hours Monday night and was up until 2am making Moonsauce* on Tuesday, so you can count me in the “all over the place” column.

This full moon I am releasing my reliance on eating out and getting my ass back to the kitchen! I love to cook but often feel exhausted from an overactive nervous system, so the practice of being prepared with food ready to eat when I am hungry for it is a focus for this next few weeks.

Got any favorite recipes I should try? Send 'em!

*Moonsauce is the name I made up for a batch of marinara sauce made with love on the full moon.

And now, onto the tarot with…

The Knight of Swords ⚔️

Deck: Ryder Waite Smith

This week we've got another digital reading, but it's from a new-to-me site and community called Moonlight. I got to meet the founders this week and these gals are awesome techie tarot witches!

Using one of their tarot rooms, I pulled the Knight of Swords. By now, you probably remember that swords represent air and everything to do with the mind, communication, language, technology, etc.

The Knight's brash energy is a warning to be cautious with the thoughts you share - without taking the time to think through what you say, you could inadvertently make a mess.

When you have to say your piece, make sure that you nail down what you need to get across and have a plan around how you express yourself. The more you can prepare for challenging conversations, the more smoothly they'll go.

But maybe charging into the abyss is more your style, and you're not worried about mixed messages - that's ok too, just don't accidentally burn any bridges.

And now, onto the tarot with…

Sorrow (or, the 9 of Swords) ⚔️

Deck: Osho Zen Tarot App

Back again with the app this week because I forgot to write it ahead of time and don't have any other decks with me. This one is an interesting card in the Osho deck because it has a little bit of a different meaning for me in most other decks.

Usually, I'll say the Nine of Swords is the headache card (swords = air = the mind). The card that shows there is something that is giving you a hard time and you can't get it out of your head. That headache can also lead to heartache so that's where you meet Osho's interpretation of sorrow.

He says that this card is inspired by Buddha's cousin Ananda who sacrificed his whole life for Buddha, and when Buddha died fulfilled, he mourned not for the passing of his beloved but for not attaining enlightenment himself.

Osho goes on to say that the purpose of this pain is attention, that “people become alert only when the arrow goes deep into their heart and wounds them.” So what can a headache or pain around something show you about that situation?

Care to share your pain? I'm here if you want to.

Here's the Partiful link!

I'm so excited to gather with community and boogie under the stars, and since my birthday is a few days later, it's also an unofficial celebration of my solar return. Hope to see you there!

Let's get into the tarot with

the Six of Wands 🪄

Deck: Trickster's Journey Tarot

This new to me deck is courtesy of Running Press and I am in love with the stunning watercolor art! This Six of Wands depicting a peacock represents a triumphant return or celebration. Pretty fitting for a birthday season, but it applies to you too.

Wands are our fire - passion, drive, creativity, the stuff that lights you up and gets you out of bed. The Six of Wands is like a vintage ticker tape parade; the champions have come home and the community greets them with confetti.

Cherish your wins however big or small. It doesn't have to be finishing a creative project, they can be as tiny as making your bed or cooking yourself a meal. Anything that you do with inspiration deserves celebration.

What are you celebrating? Let me know!

Hiya, my magical friend! How is Cancer Season treating you? All in your feels? Crying daily is the name of the game, get into the arena!

Summer is my favorite time of year, with childhood memories of picking dinner right from the garden - not exactly possible in NYC but I do have the joy of a community garden a subway ride away. I look forward to the day that my garden is closer than Queens!

Let's get into the tarot with

the Two of Swords ⚔️

Deck: True Heart Intuitive Tarot

The Two of Swords represent the crossroads - you arrive but cannot see which way to go. Do you continue down the path you've been taking? Do you turn? When you can't see the way, how do you take a step forward?

For those who are used to the gift of sight, it can be disorienting to not see what's ahead. Not only is this figure unable to see, they are also standing on one foot on a tiny piece of land. They remain tethered to the ground, even when most everything is happening in their head.

Swords are the element air which has everything to do with the mind. Perspective, language, wisdom, technology, communication, social media; they're all part of the swords. You have the chance to choose the way forward, so will you trust yourself that you know which way to go?

Which direction are you headed? Let me know!

Have patience with your magic ✨

*Originally dated June 23, 2023

Happy Friyay, my magical friend! Keeping this one short and sweet, so let's just get into the tarot.

We have …

the Three of Wands, reversed 🪄

Deck: Rider Waite Smith Tarot

The Three of Wands reversed represents the patience to gather the resources that you need to support your passions. Wands are fire and your ambition burns within, yet you need resources to make things happen.

Reversals are interesting - a lot of tarot readers either won't use them, or will have their own interpretations. One of my favorites is exploring the card meaning through the lens of the Hanged Man whose literal change in perspective and propensity to pause and wait for the right timing can drastically reframe the interpretation.

It can be really frustrating when the resources aren't there and you feel like you're up against the wall. In those moments, finding solace in small things can be helpful. (Can someone help me take my own medicine?)

So this week when you find yourself feeling like you're painted into a corner, take a pause, take a breath, and shift your perspective. As Michael Patrick King recently said in an interview, sometimes the next thing to do is go up the wall.

What walls are you climbing? Let me know!

Begin your magic (again) ✨

*Originally dated June 16, 2023

Hiya, Emily! What's new? I missed you last week, but am working on the balance between giving myself grace, and holding myself to the things I say I want. Aligning action with intention can be challenging.

The Gemini new moon this weekend is a great opportunity for a new start in duality - the twins represent differing perspectives and ways of being in the world.

And now, onto the tarot, we have …

The Fool 🐣

Deck: The Wild Unkown

The Fool begins the tarot, they are the one that takes the journey. Trusting again and again and again, The Fool shows up every time ready to explore whatever challenge they face. And you do this every day!

Whether it is trying a new restaurant, or always being there for that one friend when they call, you show up every day in your life - the question is HOW? Do you show up in a loving and trusting way? Are you angry and resentful?

The Fool's magic brings wonder and curiosity, an open heart and a willingness to sit in uncertainty and the unknown. Comfort with discomfort.

The beginning is always exciting, so find ways to reconnect with that essence when you feel like you're losing your way. You can always begin again!

Got something that you're beginning? I want to hear about it! Let me know.

Tell me, any insights from that Eight of Wands last week? Have you noticed the opportunities you catch and the ones you let fly by? Were you looking?

Want some support in the discovery?

We could explore that info together at 4pm today for the first Full Moon Community Reading. The cards are safe and you are safe with them too!

And now, onto the tarot, we have …

the Knight of Swords ⚔️

Deck: Queer Tarot

I am loving this new (to me) deck with its vivid colors and incredibly representative artwork. And what a perfect deck to kick off June readings!

The Knight of Swords represents “leap before you look” energy when it comes to your mind, communication, technology, and information (swords = air). This adolescent vibe acts first and considers the consequences later.

Have you said something or responded to a situation in a hasty way? Maybe you haven't thought through the steps or there was vital information that went overlooked. Whatever the situation may be, sometimes you have to step back and take a look at your own role in the blunder.

This is the best time to take responsibility for your behavior. Growth comes when you stand in your power and acknowledge your part. It's ok, you have learned how better to handle things next time.

What are you revisiting? Let me know!

And I hope to see you this afternoon for the first Full Moon Community Reading 🌝

Happy Friyay, my magical friend! The weather in New York has been sunny and that always helps me feel better. Plus the generous response from you about Full Moon Community Readings has been thrilling!

It's been a great week of reconnecting with friends, exploring new places, and trying new things. I am so excited to get some time in nature with a jaunt upstate for the next week. That fresh air and connection to the earth are major cravings right now! My nervous system loves a reset from Mother Nature.  What are you craving?

And now, onto the tarot, we have …

the Eight of Wands 🪄

Deck: The Fountain Tarot

Incoming! is always my first thought when I see the Eight of Wands. The things that light you up are headed your way (if they haven't already started arriving), and this is a gentle reminder that you don't have to catch ‘em all. It isn’t Pokémon!

Sometimes opportunities that you've always wanted, or never dreamed of, land in your lap and the shock can stop you in your tracks. When things start coming one after another, you have the choice to engage with the opportunity or not. You don't have to say yes to everything!

Recognize that what is for you will come back around, even if it takes time. Your blessings will not miss you, but they may land on the ground if you have your hands full with other things.

What is it that you want to make space for? Let me know! Are there opportunities that you didn't catch the first time and showed up again? I want to hear about those, too!
